The Living Pictures Summer Retreat 2017

Join us in the wilds of Dylan Thomas Country for two weeks of actor development on our five acre base. This workshop will inspire you to connect more deeply with yourself, with others and with your environment using Shakespeare’s text as a launching pad.

You will develop your understanding of Sanford Meisner and Michael Chekhov with award winning performer and actor coach Robert Bowman, Practice mindfulness and sensory awareness with Movement Director Professor Denise Gabriel of University of North Carolina (Greensboro) and broaden your knowledge of Stanislavsky with director Elen Bowman (NTW, Sherman Cymru and Theatr Genedlaethol). Announcement of other voice, movement and self development experts to follow.

The days will be full and will include acting exercises, work on the land, writing exercises and body work tutorials.We will also encourage leadership and inner reflection via Somatic movement and daily meditation forging a deeper connection to oneself and the natural environment.

 Dates : June 5th – 16th (Monday –  Friday 10 – 6) | Where : Near Llangain Village, Carmarthenshire | Cost: £350

Lunch, teas and coffees will be provided daily

Participants will need to find their own accommodation at a local hostel or camp site.
